Now 5 years later, Jay-Z is now teaming with Weinstein Company and are in the process of developing a film and a documentary based on the story of Trayvon Martin. Jay who shined light on the Kalief Browder story, won a bidding war over the rights to two books, “Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It” and “Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin. The first book was written by Lisa Bloom, and it’s about her time covering the Zimmerman trial when she worked for NBC. The second book was written by Trayvon’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin. With the upcoming work of the Trayvon Martin story, Jay is looking to shed some more light on racial profiling and the criminal justice system.
