TMZ has reported that Shug Knight is temporarily out of jail, but not for reasons you’d think. According to TMZ, Knight’s health is on the decline and it’s getting worse. The Death Row co-founder is yet again struggling with blood clots.
Knight is being held at USC Medical Center and has been transferred to and from the hospital due to his health concerns. Prior, Shug Knight was placed in solitary confinement at the L.A. County Jail while awaiting a murder trial since his arrest January 30,2015. He has mentioned his treatment while being separated from the rest of the prison population has taken a toll on his health.
Shugs son has also spoken out with his similar concerns of his father’s treatment while in jail. “Another thing that really got to me is that they’re not allowing him to heal his blood clots,” he said in the interview. “That’s really serious because his health, again, is really bad. What I do know is that when you’re in jail, you’re covered by the government because you’re now their responsibility. How can you do that when you send the D.A. to override the doctors? When the doctors are saying that he’s in no condition to return to solitary confinement? This is why when I was told he almost reached fatality three times, it was definitely believable.”
TMZ is now reporting that his condition is stable.
